Terms & Policies
Welcome to Clay & Glaze! Before using our website or participating in any activities or services offered by Clay & Glaze, please read and understand the following terms and conditions. By accessing our website or engaging in any activities, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions.

1.Online Booking and Deposit Deduction Policy
• A £5 per person booking fee applies when booking online for pottery painting and clay modelling. This amount will only be deducted from your final bill if each person attends and paints/models their own piece. Deposits for no-shows or those who do not paint/model their own piece are forfeited.
o Example: A booking for 5 people (£25 deposit) but only 4 attend and just 3 painted/modelled, £15 will be credited to the final bill (for the 3 participants). The remaining £10 is forfeited for the 1 no-show and 1 non-participant.

2. Refund & Rescheduling Policy
Reschedule and Cancellation Deadlines
To ensure smooth planning, please cancel or reschedule by the deadlines listed below:
• Pottery Painting Session: Up to 72 hours (3 days) before your session.
• Clay Modelling Classes: Up to 72 hours (3 days) before your session.
• Wheel Throwing Experience: Up to 7 days before your session.
Important Details:
• Rescheduling: Free if done at least 72 hours before your session.
• Cancellations:
o Cancel before 72 hours → Eligible for 50% refund of deposit.
o Cancel within 72 hours → No refund and rescheduling are not available.
• If you booked a session already within the cancellation deadline, you are not eligible to cancel or reschedule.
• Deposits for no-shows or those who do not paint their own piece are forfeited.
• Please make sure to cancel or reschedule within the stated timeframes to avoid losing your payment, including any additional purchases.

3. Lateness Policy
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled pottery sessions, including Clay Modelling sessions, pottery painting, wheel throwing experience or party/group events, we reserve the right to take the following actions:
• Access Denial: In certain situations, such as when the delay disrupts the experience for other participants, we reserve the right to deny access to the session.
• Session Duration: Due to prior bookings and commitments, we regret that we won’t be able to extend your session beyond the originally scheduled finish time.
• In either of these cases, please note that the deposit or price paid for the session will not be refunded.

4. Extensions to Painting Sessions and Clay Modelling
Each session lasts for approximately 90 minutes. If there is availability in the following session, we may be able to extend your current session to allow more time for painting/modelling. The extension fees are as follows: £5 for an additional 30 minutes, £10 for an extra 60 minutes, and £15 for an additional 90 minutes per person. Please note that session extensions are subject to availability. Please check with our staff onsite for the possibility of extending your session.

If we are unable to accommodate an extension due to a fully booked schedule, you have the option to store your unfinished ceramics in our store for a maximum of 7 days. Please arrange a date and time with our staff prior to leaving, excluding weekends, for your return to complete your artwork. The extension fees mentioned above will apply for the additional time required during your return visit.

Please be aware:
• Our online booking system is intended solely for new painting sessions. To schedule a return visit to complete unfinished pieces, kindly coordinate a date and time directly with our staff on site on the day of your first visit.
• Unfortunately, any unfinished ceramics remaining after 7 days will be fired without any further contact. Normal terms and conditions apply during the firing and collection process.

5. Handmade Product Disclaimer
All of our pottery pieces are handmade and individually glazed, which means each item is unique. Due to the nature of the ceramic firing process, certain outcomes are beyond our control.
• Minor Imperfections: Occasionally, slight defects may occur during kiln firing—such as pieces unintentionally fusing together or small surface blemishes. These are natural characteristics of handmade ceramics and do not affect the functionality or charm of the piece. Please note that Clay & Glaze cannot assume responsibility for these partial imperfections.
• Significant Damage: In rare cases, an item may be damaged beyond its intended use. If this happens, we will offer you the opportunity to repaint and recreate the same item at no additional cost. Alternatively, if you choose to keep the original item, we will provide a 50% discount on the cost of the product.
• For other pottery-making sessions such as Clay Modelling or Wheel Throwing, Clay & Glaze can’t be held liable for any damage during the glazing or firing process.

6. Refuse Entry
• We reserve the right to refuse entry due to lateness, misconduct, or other reasons.

7. Collection, Delivery, Delivery Delay & Disposal
•Due to fluctuating demand, there may be delays to our originally agreed-upon collection or delivery timeline. Clay & Glaze will make every effort to align with the initially agreed-upon schedule, but we cannot be held liable for any losses incurred as a result of such delays.
• Items must be collected in person or scheduled for delivery before the designated disposal date. Unclaimed items may be disposed of without notice.
• Customers requesting delivery must email Clay & Glaze and provide a valid Royal Mail postage label (please confirm item weight with us before purchasing).
• Delivery packaging incurs an additional charge for materials, plus a £2 administration fee for handling and dispatch.
• Clay & Glaze Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage during delivery.

8. Children & Supervision
• Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children in their care at all times.
• Children must not touch or damage bisque items on display. Any damage may be chargeable.

9. Restricted Access Areas
• Guests must request staff permission before entering kitchen or toilet areas, due to health and safety regulations.
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult when using these facilities.
• To prevent overcrowding and reduce risk, only one person at a time is permitted in the kitchen or toilet area (unless a guardian is accompanying a child, in which case two are allowed).

10. Celebrating You — With Consent
• We love celebrating our amazing customers and may occasionally use photos taken during events or visits for our social media channels. If you prefer not to have your photo or likeness shared online, please request an opt-out form. Your preferences will be fully respected.

11. Participation and Safety
• Age Restrictions: Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during pottery classes, workshops, or any other activities at Clay & Glaze. Some activities may have age restrictions, which will be clearly stated during the booking process.
• Health and Safety: Participants must comply with all health and safety guidelines provided by Clay & Glaze. This includes wearing appropriate attire, using tools and equipment responsibly, and following instructions from our instructors. Clay & Glaze will not be held liable for any injuries or damages resulting from failure to comply with these guidelines.

12. Clay & Glaze’s Right to Cancel
•We reserve the right to cancel any pottery sessions, including pottery painting, clay modelling, wheel throwing, or party/group events, at any time before the scheduled event. Possible reasons for cancellation include, but are not limited to, insufficient participants, or Acts of God.
• While we do not expect cancellations to occur frequently, if a session is cancelled, we will offer an alternative session on a different date or time or provide a refund for any payments made. However, we are not liable for any other losses or damages incurred.

13. Food Policy
• Outside food is not permitted on the premises unless your booking is a private hire.
• Clay & Glaze Ltd is not liable for any issues resulting from the consumption of outside food.
